A huge thank you to all the clients, family and friends who donated to help me stay Sober for October and raise over £1000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. It was quite an experience I can tell you, and one that I do not wish to repeat! It was pure torture going to a wedding and various evenings out without touching a drop of alcohol. But I did it and I am delighted that such a worthy cause has gained such a great amount to put to good use. Thank you once again Susan
There...I've said it! I have decided that for the next 31 days, I am passing on the Prosecco, giving up the Gin, waging war on the Wine and ditching the Daiquiris for no other reason than I want to raise as much money as possible throughout October for Macmillan Cancer Support. It's going to be tough as I have got some lovely evenings out to navigate without the booze, but it's not half as tough as it must be to be faced with a diagnosis of cancer. Too many of us are affected by this disease so sponsor me however much you can and call into the salon to support my team in their range of fundraising efforts. I'm staying Sober For October...what will you do?
Tickets bought, pitch ready, tent packed, friends waiting. But hang on before you take off for that long awaited summer festival. Pack a few beauty essentials for Latitude and you'll feel so much better whether it stays fine or it's a total wash-out. It's got to be travel minis for your deodorant, shower gel and face cleanser and luckily, most popular brands make super cute versions, perfect for this time of year. While you're at it, look for 'camping style' alternatives that are also ideal for travelling light. Keep an eye out for dry shampoo, shower wipes, once-a-day sunscreen, anti-bac hand wash, mini body spray, tinted lip balm, wet wipes (these are great when you've used all the loo roll!), natural deodorant sticks, and even toothpaste tablets. And because feeling unwell while you're there may just send you home early, why not grab a few medical essentials too such as insect repellent, rehydration tablets, plasters and a bottle of tea tree oil, so at least you can cope with a few minor disasters, and stay til the very end. Whatever you pop in your rucksack this year, have a great summer of music, and stay healthy and beautiful while you're there
